Applying for Loans at Appalachian
Appalachian participates in the Federal Family Education Loan Program in awarding Federal Stafford, Federal PLUS and Federal Graduate PLUS Loans. All loans require that the appropriate Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be on file.
The Office of Student Financial Aid will determine, based on the results of the FAFSA, the maximum amounts which may be borrowed in each of the federal education loan programs.
Loan amounts must be accepted by the student. It is preferable that the student accept the loan on their AppalNet account. Loans may also be accepted on the paper award letter.
