Summer School
For Financial Aid purposes, summer school is considered a trailer – the last term of the 2008-2009 academic year. Because summer school is considered a trailer, aid received during the 2008-2009 academic year will be considered in determining remaining financial aid eligibility for the 2009 summer school term.
Application Procedures:
- If you have not done so, submit the 2008-2009 FAFSA no later than April 1st and fully complete verification process (if applicable).
- To qualify for aid, you must be a degree seeking student at Appalachian and enrolled on at least a half time basis, 6 hours for undergraduate students and 5 hours for graduate students.
- Visiting students taking course work towards a degree program at an institution other than Appalachian are not eligible for financial aid.
- Once all application requirements have been satisfied, we will begin awarding summer school financial aid awards in mid-March. If you have no remaining eligibility, you will be notified once processing begins.
Application Deadlines:
· Deadline for Summer Applications was May 8, 2009.
· All Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals should have been submitted prior to May 8, 2009
· All summer school awards must be accepted no later than May 25, 2009
· Loan documentation must be completed before the last day of class
Types of Aid Available:
There are no grant funds for summer school. Financial aid is usually in the form of student and/or parent loans. Students who have already borrowed their maximum annual or aggregate Federal Stafford Loan limits prior to summer 2009 are ineligible to receive a Federal Stafford Loan for the 2009 summer school terms.
| Hours Completed | Annual Loan Limit | Annual Loan Limit | Annual Loan Limit |

Important Reminders:
