Applying for Loans at Appalachian State University

To be eligible to receive Federal Student Loans, a student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and be enrolled at least half-time.

Loans may be offered as part of a students financial aid package at Appalachian State University. Please remember that loans must be repaid. The following loans are available for the student and family to consider:

Loans in the Student's Name

  • Federal Perkins Loan
  • 2011-2012 Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans
  • Federal Direct Graduate PLUS
  • Loan Consolidation
  • Master Promissory Note (MPN)

Loans in the Parent's Name

  • 2011-2012 Federal Direct PLUS Loans
  • 2012-2013 Federal Direct PLUS Loans
  • Loan Consolidation
  • Master Promissory Note (MPN)
