Parent Access

The Office of Student Financial Aid is committed to protecting student information according to the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and the University's policy on accessing student records. In order for us to discuss a student's financial aid information with a parent, the student must have granted Parent Access through their AppalNet portal. Students may grant access for up to two individuals. If we receive a visit or a call from someone who has not been granted access, our office cannot communicate specifics about a student's financial aid award, bill, or outstanding requirements, even if the individual is a parent to the student.

Additional information on parent access can be found on the Parent Access Page of the Registrar's Office website.

Students, please use this user guide (PDF, 625 KB) if you wish to grant parent access from AppalNet.
