Apply for Aid

Students can begin applying for first-year scholarships during their senior year of high school or as a trasnfer students and continue to be eligible for varying awards throughout their time here at App State. 

Each application process is just a little different, so make sure you review the appropriate steps for each one.

Once your FAFSA is processed, you can check your AppalNet account to confirm receipt and see if any additional documents are needed.

You will receive your financial aid offer notification via your App State email.

Schedule an Appointment

Meet with a financial aid counselor for one-on-one assistance or join a virtual drop-in session to get answers about grants, scholarships and loans.

If you're offered federal student loans, you can accept or decline them in your AppalNet account. First-time borrowers must complete Entrance Counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN).

Some students choose to use private loans to assist with their tuition. App State provides Lender Information to help in your search process.

The Office of Student Accounts offers payment plans to help manage tuition costs. Learn more about available plans, enrollment, and associated fees.

In addition to financial aid, many students opt to work while in school. Federal Work-Study is available for those who qualify and is based on financial need. The Career Development Center can also help you find part-time jobs on and off campus.
